Job Description:

A company is looking for a Certified Cancer Registrar/Cancer Registry Abstractor.

Key Responsibilities

Abstracts and codes clinical data from medical records in compliance with regulatory standards
Identifies reportable cancer cases and maintains the suspense file
Ensures data quality by resolving discrepancies and responding to quality inquiries

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

Associate's Degree in Health Information Management or an allied Health-related field
Oncology Data Specialist-Certified (ODS-C) accredited by the National Cancer Registrars Association
Thorough knowledge of cancer staging, treatment, and medical terminology
Experience in abstracting and registry operations in a CoC accredited hospital is preferred
Proficiency with Epic EMR and Oncolog cancer registry software is preferred
