Kind of Work
Advanced technical and administrative duties involved in the
collecting, documenting, and preserving of evidence at a crime
scene; and related work as required.
Shift, weekend, and holiday work is required.
Minimum Qualifications
Note: Additional crime scene investigator experience may substitute
for the required college credit at the rate of one (1) year of
related experience equals 30 hours (one year) of college
credits.
This position requires a one-year probationary period.
Kind of Examination
A rating of training and experience, weighted 100%. All related
previous experience will be considered for qualification purposes;
however, credit on the rating of training and experience will only
be given for related experience gained within the last ten (10)
years.
Note: The Police Department will conduct a background investigation
which will include a voice stress test, a urinalysis to detect
usage of illegal narcotic substances, and a check of arrest and
conviction record.
This is an original entrance examination.

VETERANS PREFERENCE: On original entrance examinations, veterans
shall receive additional credit if claimed as provided on the
Veterans Preference claim form which can be obtained in this
office.
